Trap is a shotgun sport involving shooting at clay targets thrown from a bunker or house whose top is at ground level in front of the shooter.
The game of skeet is mostly a close range type of game. The longest shot you have is where you are perpendicular to the field at station 4. Here the distance is about 20 yards. A skeet field uses two traps places on opposing sides of the field with shooting positions placed in a semi-circular fashion. For more information see below.

Shotshells can be pretty much any kind of Target or Dove/Quail loads. We must restrict any shot size larger than 7 ½ lead or #7 steel due to shot fall limitations. Likewise, any 3 inch shells are not allowed. Historically, Steel Shot has been restricted because it was only available in large shot sizes and it has a tendency to ricochet. Lately, however, shotshell manufactures have been producing “Target” style loads with steel shot, and those, in size #7 or smaller, are now allowed.
